Best Products of the Week | Vol. 361

Happy weekend! While I’m sharing the top-rated products I published reviews for over the past week, I’d love to hear about your own “week-in-review.” I love reading–and I know others enjoy sharing!–their own “week in review” when it comes to what makeup/beauty products they may have used and/or enjoyed.

What was your week in review like? Copy and paste the lil’ survey below and share your answers in the comments 🙂

  • Your skin tone/coloring:
  • What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?:
  • What was the hero product of the week for you?:
  • Any products you want to use next week?:

Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?
• EYES: Primed with MAC Painterly. Urban Decay Born to Run palette (Riff in crease and swept under bottom lashes, Stranded on lid, Blaze on inner corner, Punk in outer V), Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Stash at the base of my lower lashes, CoverGirl Clump Crusher Waterproof Mascara, and Benefit Goof Proof and Benefit Precisely My Brow eyebrow pencils, both in Grey.
• FACE: Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup in Sand, Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Concealer in Light Buff, Revlon ColorStay Pressed Powder, Clinique Cheek Pop in Peach.
• LIPS: Shiseido ModernMatte Powder Lipstick in Disrobed

What was the hero product of the week for you? UD Born to Run eye palette. I bought this palette a few years ago, but only used it once or twice and didn’t really like it at the time. I decided to give it another try this week and came up with the very pretty look I described above. Honorable mention to UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Stash, a gorgeous shimmery green.

Any products you want to use next week? YSL Vinyl Couture Mascara in the shade I’m the Trouble (cobalt blue). I got a couple of mini size versions of it a few years ago as gifts with purchase, but didn’t open one of them, so it’s still fresh. I had forgotten about it, but found it in a drawer the other day.

đź“ŤYour skin tone/coloring: Light plus Neutral u/t
đź“ŤWhat was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: I do super simple eyes and like SG for core neutral/cool shadows for all over lid into crease and lower lash to give my very hooded, very textured eyes some dimension (SG Love (light)..shadows like Victoria and especially that ashy shadow, Passion). I amp it up with a colourful eyeliner top and bottom usual suspects Chanel Stylo in Eros and Cassis.
📍What was the hero product of the week for you?: Not one historically to support celebrity brands, I am finding a healthy respect for Rare Beauty products. Love her highlighters and her new very thin, slightly illuminating under eye product (positive light undereye brightener). I’m using it in lieu of concealer. Yay, the concealer hunt is in offseason. Also loving the much aligned Jones Road WTF. How can one shade work for all people in light skin department, I don’t know. But somehow it works for me; makes my skin look and feel restful and happy.
đź“ŤAny products you want to use next week?: ordered the new shade of Beckham liners called Surfside.

Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: Not a lot of makeup wearing due the extremely hot weather this week – just the basics. But I did do a lovely look for when I went out for dinner last night – L’Oreal’s True Match foundation in porcelain rose; Shiseido’s Inner Glow blush in coral, Flower Beauty’s Chestnut red lipstick.
For the eyelook – Smashbox’s Petal Metal – Fresh Stem on the brow bone, Rose Rocked on the lower lid, XO Vlada in the crease.
What was the hero product of the week for you?: Sunscreen – I am trying a new one DermaVeen’s Sensitive Face sunscreen 50+

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: The look where my son picked out the Gourmande Girls Spooky palette for me and specifically wanted me to use the shade Pumpkin. Here’s the look if you want to see! https://www.instagram.com/p/CnUZLFXrA4N/?igshid=MDM4ZDc5MmU=

What was the hero product of the week for you?: My Missha M Perfect Cover BB cream. All of my base products have been looking cakey lately, but that one is perfect all the time.
